STEDELIJK MUSEUM - THE ICONS OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART
The highlights in art and design from 1880 to now.
Exciting, challenging and innovative modern art that broke the tradition and emerged in the end of the 19th century. We well start with the rich permanent collection on the base floor and literally come up to the contemporary display.
Our art tour in Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam offers a unique and compelling insights into today’s world, reflecting on broader social issues, as well as those that influence our individual lives. We make sure that every curious visitor will experience art and learn fascinating facts for better understanding of our society through the prism of modern art and culture.
The Stedelijk has always been, and remains, an advocate of fresh ideas and experimentation, encouraging critical discourse and a better understanding of the present through art and design.
You will see and learn more about big names in art history, such as Kandinsky, Malevich, Chagall, Mondrian, Fontana, Koons, Hirst, CoBra, De Stijl and Bauhaus art movements and much more…
